The building
A jaali screen over a conventional RCC frame — and the specification sheet to go with it.
The façade
Why a screen
and not glass.
A curtain wall facing west in Pune is a comfort problem dressed as a design decision. Heat arrives at the glass, blinds come down, and the perimeter your rent is calculated on becomes the part of the floor nobody wants to sit in.
The jaali solves it upstream. A deep rhombic screen stands off the glazing and breaks direct sun before it lands, which keeps the perimeter workable and takes load off the cooling plant.
The geometry is not arbitrary. It is a rhombille tiling — a hexagon divided into three rhombi, the same isometric figure as the Nyati mark, repeated across the elevations. Apertures within the screen are lit after dark, which is why the building reads as a landmark from Nagar Road.
